01
A well configured working environment
If the particle counter used is detected online, because online models generally have a certain level of protection, try to stay away from high-power strong magnetic interference, and choose suitable and representative detection points; But if offline detection is used, in order to prevent secondary pollution during the detection process, the particle counter should be used in a relatively clean environment, especially for desktop computers. Ordinary laboratories should try to place them in dust covers for use. In addition, the core sensor of the particle counter is a typical low-power, high sensitivity sensor that is susceptible to electromagnetic or accidental electrostatic interference. Shielding measures should be taken, and the instrument has been well grounded. It is necessary to ensure that the socket grounding wire is intact and avoid accidental electrostatic contact as much as possible.
02
Pay attention to the impact of performance parameters
The minimum threshold set must be 1.5 times higher than the threshold noise level;
The sampling flow rate through the sensor should always be stable at the working flow rate and should not exceed the flow limit range;
The particle count concentration of the detected liquid sample should be lower than the coincidence error limit of the sensor, otherwise, the liquid sample should be diluted;
The temperature of the detected liquid sample (temperature of the liquid sample through the sensor window) cannot exceed the maximum limit of the instrument;
The particle size interval between adjacent channels should not be lower than the resolution of the instrument.
03
Pay attention to regular calibration
Regular calibration is the foundation for accurate testing of particle counters. For all particle counters, their electrical and optical parameters are constantly changing due to drift, aging of electronic components, displacement and wear of optical components. Therefore, in order to ensure the accuracy and reliability of the test results, it is necessary to calibrate them every 6 months to one year, with a maximum cycle of no more than one year. If repairs or adjustments are made to components related to counting during the calibration cycle, or if there are doubts about the counting results, calibration should be carried out at any time.
